Materials Manager


Responsible for XX personnel in two locations, ensuring that Master Production Schedule is realistic and achievable, setting production planning volume for site budgeting, managing finished goods inventory levels, manufacturing and distribution lot sizes, product distribution and demand forecasting, managing planning system parameters, generating ad-hoc reports to upper management and oversees warehouse function and strategic planning, cycle count, regulatory compliance. The Materials Manager will have site responsibility for MRP, inventory, scheduling, production planning, procurement, materials management transportation, compliance, warehousing and logistics for two facilities in Tamps, MX and Border, TX including other administrative activities.

A focus on safety, process improvement through standardization, technology deployment, partnering with internal and external customers, and talent development is vital to meeting strategic goals. It will also have a critical link to customer satisfaction and will interact extensively with commercial personnel and related tactics and strategies. Will work in collaboration with the organization to strategically and tactically develop, align and implement supply chain strategies which ensures the value chain network, forecasting, procurement, key supplier relationships, operating model, engineering, processes, capabilities and systems will support short and long-term EBITDA improvement, delivery performance, asset effectiveness, supply flexibility and availability all the while improving the company’s bottom line results. Objective is to increase service levels and achieve operational excellence as Best in Class Supply Chain.

Background Required:
• Progressive Leadership role within Materials Management assignment preferably within a vertically integrated manufacturing environment (10 years)
• People management, to include direct and indirect reports (matrixed) (effectively recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, delegate, provide oversight, coach, mentor and monitor their activities)
• Responsibility for: Procurement, Sourcing, Forecasting, Master Scheduling, MRP/visual, Demand Planning, Inventory, Risk Management all within same company and preferably during the past 10 years with same employer.
• Utilize multiple partners and distribution centers to optimize global supply chain and procurement
• Inventory & Materials Management (Raw materials, in process, finished goods)
• Proficiency in forecasting methods
• Implementing metrics and KPIs: Manage dashboard outputs and data
• Oversee material warehousing and control, storage, reconciliation and distribution.
• Recommend changes to practices and procedures to support compliance with key local and global regulations affecting the business
• Ensure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the plant to ensure supply chain coordination within the Commercial Organization, Quality, Procurement, Engineering, Operations
• Industry: (Electronics/Contract Manufacturing)
• History serving as solutions integration point for improving material flow, standardizing work flow, optimization supply chain process (value stream mapping)
• KPI & Metric Measurements (i.e. pricing, delivery, cost, on time performance)
• Advanced computer proficient: (Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint)
• Technology Proficient (TMS, WMS, – ERP)

Other Essential Abilities and Skills:
Bilingual: English/Spanish
• Ability to travel up to 25%
• Education: BS or BA (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related area, MBA or MS a plus)
• Strong customer focus orientation
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams using strong collaborative skills
• Demonstrated ability to drive solutions at all levels of an organization
• Strong organization, problem solving and leadership skills
• Detailed understanding of Supply Chain practices and metrics
• Strong financial management, analysis, communication & presentation skills
• Ability to work effectively on a regional and Global Functional basis both horizontally and vertically
• Excellent written & verbal communication

Background Preferred (but not required):
• Industry relevant certifications (e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma, APICS, PMP)
• Drive Lean/Value Stream Mapping opportunities to effectively eliminate waste and drive operational cost to defined targets
