Distribution Director

Bachelors Degree, experience managing up to 1000 employees a plus,
Bilingual-English/Spanish preferred. Computer skills: Microsoft, SAP and AS 400. Travel Requirements-Up to 20%.

Duties and Responsibilities: Plans and directs distribution, packaging, and parts warehouse in a manufacturing company directly or via supervisors. Directs and coordinates various various programs essential to distribution procedures (e.g. training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.),

Maintains interaction with factory family members, transportation, customer and sales service, facilities, finance, and human resources on a regular basis. Conducts team and one-on-one meetings with direct reports to discuss and resolve outstanding business issues.

Participates as a member of the warehouse education and research council. Develops and directs programs to ensure an efficient and cost effective operation and utilization of the facility. Plans long range labor needs based on sales forecasts and inputs from management, makes recommendations to senior management on programs to improve operations. Develops a space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and service standards.

Monitors the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards. Develops procedures to ensure the efficient operation and utilization of all warehouse equipment. Adjusts the quantity and type of of equipment to meet business needs and minimize costs. Directs and motivates leadership to achieve goals and objectives. Applies sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling, and disciplining, subordinates.

Implements training programs for leadership through learning plans and factory family members to promote strong employee engagement. Develops, implements and directs programs to ensure the safety of all factory family members. Reports all work related injuries to occupational safety and health immediately. Manages in-house team of first aid responders. Maintains a professional and courteous relationship with all customers. Visits and makes phone calls periodically to customers as needed.

Audits operations to ensure that service standards are being met.
Ensures current and accurate inventory control. Ensures the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution and retention of necessary reports and records regarding warehouse operations. Ensures compliance to all local, state and federal regulatory and quality requirements, other duties assigned.
