Quality Assurance Supervisor (TX)

Development and implement Quality Assurance programs and verification activities to ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, government regulations, and industry best practices including cGMP, FSMA, HACCP and GAP. Develop and maintain a document control system for the facility. Manage sanitation program and calibration for the facility. Perform risk-based assessments on new products, processes, ingredients, and packaging. Develop and implement a supplier quality assurance system and lead and participate in External, Internal and Supplier Audits. Ensure product trace ability for the facility as per regulatory requirements. Day to day oversight of Quality Assurance and Quality Programs at the facility. Identify, create, and implement Quality Assurance/Control standard operating procedures (SOPs), forms, work instructions and carry out training. Develop and implement quality control procedures for sampling and testing. Ensure that all staff receives required cGMP, HACCP, Food Defense, Allergen and any other QA/Food Safety related training as necessary. Oversee all quality aspects of material on Global GAP level. Coordinate delivery of COA documents for materials to customers as necessary. Manage the sample retention program.
Assist in the development and revision of specifications for new products and existing products as necessary. Responsible for communication of quality and food safety standards to plant personnel through training, corrective actions, quality and food safety audits and production monitoring. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to maintain cGMP compliance, improve product quality, production efficiency, and reduce non-conformances. Drive Materials Review Meetings and Quality Management Review Meetings. Assists, as needed, with FDA or other regulatory inspections. Oversee the Final Review of Batch Records and Release of Finished Product according to Standard Operating procedures and cGMP’s. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills: Detailed knowledge and track record of successful implementation of manufacturing SOPs and cGMP as well as Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001. Certification and training in GFSI scheme, HACCP, FSMA or similar. Proficient knowledge of HACCP and the proven ability to write HACCP plans
strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, suppliers and co-workers. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects. Possess excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills. Knowledge of Aseptic process is desirable. Acts with high integrity and honesty at all times.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.

Experienced and trained manager for budgets, managing personnel and leading a Quality department. Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Process Engineering, biochemistry or related field. HACCP Certification is required. Minimum of 3-5 years QA management in an FDA regulated environment. Proficiency with technology. The ideal candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Ability to speak, read and write Spanish language is an added advantage.
