Plant Manager


POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages and oversees overall plant operations including but not limited to finance, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, materials, quality assurance/control, human resources, environmental, health & safety, and information systems. Position makes recommendations to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency of operations. May be required to meet certain certifications in field. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Position reports to top management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the field or in a related area. Position requires experience as production team manager, general manager, director of operations or plant manager with proven leadership abilities. Ability to achieve immediate rapport with customers, suppliers, local union leadership, shop floor personnel, and all levels of management is imperative. Individual must be thoroughly familiar with automated manufacturing and engineering methods, JIT parts scheduling, kanban systems, TS 16949, ISO14001 and Six Sigma/OPEX philosophies and techniques. Individual must have experience in a highly automated high volume automotive component manufacturing environment. Individual must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures to include high pressure metal joining and welding techniques. Must have working knowledge of regulatory requirements in the areas of DOT and BATF related to the handling, storage, shipment, and control of certain materials.

Experience in the automotive manufacturing field is required. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Excellent oral and written communications are a must.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Directs and coordinates plant operations.
2. Ensures the health and safety of manufacturing personnel.
3. Ensures Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are met in all areas of the operations.
4. Relies on effective/efficient operational control by manufacturing managers and supervisors in the areas of production, production control, maintenance and related operations.
5. Delegates authority to managers, supervisors in production, production control, maintenance and related operations.
6. Collaborates with top management and representatives of other departments and manufacturing facilities to implement, execute and review manufacturing activities.
7. Implement efficient production and assembly operations.
8. Successfully launch new programs from pre-production validation through full-rate manufacturing.
9. Ensures compliance with all U.S. and Mexican regulatory and industry related regulations and requirements.
10. Performs other duties as required.

Salary: DOE, depends on experience. USA/Mexican payroll
